Lydia Alhassan is always running away as she does from community engagements - John Dumelo

Social media users have descended heavily on the NDC parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West-Wuogon, John Dumelo for his comment against NPP MP for Ayawaso West-Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan during TV3’s community manifesto on Wednesday, August 28.

While speaking about his vision and policies for the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency, the supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were heard chanting ‘V8’.

This was in reference to the scandal about John Dumelo acquiring a state-owned Toyota Landcruiser V8 which was later retrieved by National Security Operatives in 2017.

The actor cum politician who got infuriated by the comment from the NPP supporters in turn accused Lydia Seyram Alhassan, MP for Ayawaso West-Wuogon of killing her husband to occupy the seat.

“I want to say something, I can see their supporters mentioning V8, V8, V8. If that is the case, it is also fair to say that maybe Lydia is the one that killed her husband to become MP. Because if they want to go that tangent, I can also go that same tangent because this time around, its boot for boot.

“You cannot decide to be a bloody widow to be Member of Parliament,” Dumelo said angrily.

One X user said: “This is an irresponsible comment from @johndumelo. He has really lost my respect for this comment.”

Another user tweeted: “Embarrassing from @johndumelo”

“Oh Charley Den idey rate John Dumelo Paa o herr politics ei,” another said

“What happened my brother, @johndumelo,” another tweeted.

However, John Dumelo has offered apologies for his comment against MP for Ayawaso West-Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan.
