My husband initially objected my food vlogging idea – Sweet Adjeley

Ghanaian food vlogger based in the US, Sweet Adjeley, has shared her journey to becoming a food vlogger, an initiative she begun seven years ago.

Speaking to Giovani Caleb on 3FM Drive, Tuesday, July 16, Sweet Adjeley whose real name is Naa Adjeley Quaye said at the initial stage of starting her vlog, her husband did not like the idea because he prefers a private life.

Despite this, Sweet Adjeley said her husband has been “very supportive” in her journey so far.

“When I wanted to start this, he said no way. I don’t want people to know what I’m eating,” she shared.

Responding to how she deals with some terrible comments on social media, she said “my husband helps a lot with that.”

She emphasized that initially she ignores such messages, however, she noted that she now responds when such comments become too much.

The mother of four and a medical assistant who has been engaged in food vlogging for seven years has created her own recipes and spices now.

“I have my all purpose seasoning. I have my natural spice mix, kelewele seasoning and I am also working on just the regular garlic, ginger powders and stuff,” she mentioned.

The US based food vlogger and a graduate of the New York restaurant school has her cooking lessons on YouTube, TikTok and Facebook with over one million subscribers on YouTube.
