Emerging artiste, Safo Newman has disclosed the real story behind his signature beanie hat which he never takes off.
Beanie is a small hat that fits closely to the head. The singer who went viral in January has since been appreciated by Ghanaians for his talent.
The beanie hat is now inseparable from Safo’s identity as far as his music career is concerned.
Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, he said the hat is a symbol of appreciation and gratitude to the man who has supported his music career from the onset.
He dispelled rumours about it being for fashion stressing that he wears the hat to appreciate the stranger who has encourage and financially assisted him in his career from 2019.
“My beanie is a tribute to the person who believed in me from the onset. He’s been like a father to me, guiding my music aspirations with his unwavering support, despite not being a blood relation.
“Until recently, I had never met him in person; but prior to that, he was always getting in touch and providing the assistance I needed. He is not based in Ghana but makes it a point to support me like someone who has known me all his life,” Safo Newman indicated.

Being influenced by his mentor who wears a beanie, Safo said he also wears the beanie to appreciate and give honour to his ‘angel’.
“He always wears a beanie too, and that influenced my choice of headwear. Each time I wear one of the beanies he gifted me, it is my token of appreciation and a reminder of his generosity. That is how best I can pay homage to the person who believed in me before others did,” he said.
Last month, the budding artiste linked up with rapper Sarkodie in his studio for a possible collaboration.
