I changed my name from A.I. because people referred to me as Artificial Intelligence – Ayisi

Ayisi

Ghanaian Hiplife musician, Ayisi previously known as A.I. has disclosed his reason for altering his stage name.

Ayisi was best known as A.I. after he was featured by colleague musician, Vision DJ for the hit track ‘Grind’ back in 2016.

According to him, his decision to change his stage name to Ayisi stems from the fact that A.I. is dominantly known to mean Artificial Intelligence, hence he wanted to eschew any confusion amongst artistes.

He stressed that at the time he was known as A.I., people inferred different meaning from his stage name and took a decision to clear all the doubts in mind.

“Nowadays everything is A.I. so it was suggested that you know the artiste will get lost in all that…there were incredible names, Adenta Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence and all that so I thought that the artiste will get lost in all that,” he explained on TV3’s New Day on May 1.

The artiste further explained that his previous stage name, A.I. was just a short form of his full name, Ayisi which he decided to only use the first and last letters (A.I.).

Ayisi has released a latest single ‘Blessing’ produced by Groovy.

Meanwhile, the artiste while reacting to nominations for Telecel Ghana Music Awards, said he is mostly not focused on nominating himself for the award scheme.

He said he is usually focused on his work as an artiste and putting out his best.

‘I mostly have them submitted for me. I have never submitted nomination myself even with ‘Anger Management’ someone submitted it for me. I am more than often focused on just do your work and then someone remembers to file for me,” Ayisi added.
