Multiple award-winning broadcaster Johnnie Hughes has been named as Change Ambassador at the National Students Awards held in Accra. The National Students Awards is organised by the National Students Alliance, comprising the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), All Africa Students’ Union (AASU), among others. The broadcaster provides a platform for conversations around social issues on his Community Connect programme on 3FM. Johnnie also champions issues bordering on education and development in the country. Through his programme, listeners are given an opportunity to file complaints about problems they face with social amenities among other things, and appropriate authorities are held accountable to ensure that these issues are solved. The award-winning broadcaster, who is also a co-host on TV3‘s New Day, is known for his unique interviewing skills which subject duty bearers to strict scrutiny.
The citation for the award reads: “For your passion for, and significant contribution to education and educational development in Ghana”. Source: editors.3news.com| Ghana
