The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, visited the Akwaaba Village last Monday to lend support to Afua Asantewaa in her attempt to break the Guinness World Record singing.

Afua is aiming to sing continuously to break the current record, held by Indian Sunil Waghmare, who sang for 105 hours in 2012.

She is in her third day.

Maa Lydia, as the MP is affectionately called, was at the Akwaaba Village in her capacity as the Chair of the Women’s Caucus in Parliament.

She expressed happiness that a female Ghanaian is making this audacious attempt to set a world record.

She made a cash donation of an undisclosed amount to Afua Asantewaa’s team.

The MP was accompanied by the NPP Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Osman Iddrisu.

She interacted with some celebrities who were also at the grounds to cheer Afua on.
