Ghanaian Gospel artiste, Rev. Mrs. Mavis Asante reveals that the CEO of Highly Spiritual Music Label, Kaywa is the one producing her yet-to-release album, adding her experience being the wife of a prophet.

The Reverend Minister, having been married to a man of God for 12 years now, is of the view that not everyone can operate in that field and the fact that it is a calling.

“I’ve been married to him for 12 years now. I always tell people that being a prophet’s wife is a calling. Not everyone can do it. It’s a calling on its own. If God doesn’t speak over it, you can’t do it. It is God that strengthens us and helped me for 12 years. I married quite early and seeing how I’ve been able to keep myself and looking at all the things you have to do; being a people’s person, as humble as a child as well as having patience, it’s all God,” she said.

Sharing some of the challenges she faces being a prophet’s wife, Rev. Mrs. Mavis mentioned quite a few, indicating the relevance of the congregation to the ministry.

“Sometimes, you’re not in a good mood to smile but you have to. Sometimes, the treatment you get from some church members makes you go like, if I wasn’t a prophet’s wife, for this thing the person has done to me, they deserve a slap but you are there to serve. You are in your position because of the congregation. Without them, you are nothing. You’ll have service with the chairs,” she stated.

In an interview with Nana Ama McBrown on Onua TV, the former Mentor contestant pointed out the need to always fall on God to enable one amidst all these challenges because as human beings, it will not be easy.

“You have to come to the realization that you’re a pastor because of the people. When you break down to the lowest point, ask God for His strength to know how to tolerate people; knowing how to deal and speak to them. You need to always ask for the strength of God else you will fail because you’re human and no matter what, people hurt you, you go wrong, but in it all, you need to exercise patience,” she indicated.

Shifting the attention of viewers a bit, Rev. Mrs. Mavis Asante, wife of Prophet Chris Asante Mensah disclosed that an album is underway and its producer is none other than the award-winning producer, Kaywa.

“I’m planning on releasing an album which I’m working on. It’ll come out very soon. Kaywa is the producer,” she revealed.
