For a crowd of concert-goers of that magnitude, Global Citizen has raised the standards of concerts in Ghana. Aside from making sure people enjoy only the best sounds, Global Citizen Festival had free water bottles and refill stations dotted over the venue. Ghana has had its fair share of concert mishaps from terrible sounds, technical inadequacies, security loopholes and general unforeseen challenges. But since last Saturday night, the Global Citizen Festival has been the talk of the town for its exemplary event mannagement and execution. Some patrons took to social media to share their experiences, hoping that local event planners and managers would take a cue from the Global Citizen Festival. Free, unlimited water at a location with hundreds of thousands of screaming fans packed together is more than a thoughtful gesture. It shows proper planning and foresight. Global Citizen Festival brought international icons from all over the globe to celebrate with Ghanaians in Accra at the Black Star Square. Usher, Stormzy and SZA shared the stage with Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Yaw Tog, Gyakie, Tems (Nigeria), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria) and Oxlade (Nigeria. Dancegod Lloyd's dance academy, Dance With A Purpose, also performed choreography with Usher on stage.
