Dope Nation, a musical duo composed of Micheal Boafo popularly known as B2, and Tony Boafo known as Twist have shared how the collaboration with multiple award-winning rapper, Sarkodie on their song, ‘Check My Zingo’ happened.

Speaking to Berla Mundi on TV3 Newday, the twin brothers disclosed that their collaboration with Sarkodie wasn’t a planned one but it just happened and gave a brief narration on how it all began.

“We released the first version of it and it came with a hype video. He (Sarkodie) saw it and posted it on his story,” they said.

They continued, “Two to three days later, he sent us a dm to send him the beats. At the beginning of the year, we didn’t have anyone to fuse with on this track.”

According to Dope Nation, Sarkodie’s verse was “fire” and it didn’t take a long time to record. They pointed out that the experience was an entirely different one with the involvement of the likes of KillBeatz, a Ghanaian music producer.

“It didn’t even take 30 minutes. He sent his verse. We checked it out and it was fire. We did a mix. The amazing thing about this is after he asked for the beats, we had a dm from KillBeatz and he complimented the song. He sent a VN and when we listened, Sarkodie was doing his thing. The experience was different,” they shared.

Berla mentioned that they gave some credit to record producer Hammer on social media when the song was released and asked them to throw some light on the reason that appreciation was made.

“He has this sound from Obrafour’s old song; we took it and placed it in the new song, ‘Check My Zingo’. What we are trying to do is to merge the old song and evolve it into a new one,” they mentioned.
