‘Congratulations, Big Greg’ – King Paluta celebrates King Promise for wining Artiste of the Year

Rapper King Paluta has extended congratulations to King Promise who was crowned Artiste of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).

King Promise also secured awards for Best Afropop song, Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste and Best Album/EP of the year in addition to winning Artiste of the Year title.

In a post shared on X on May 11, 2025, King Paluta, who was also a contender for the covetous prize but lost to King Promise, politely appreciated the accomplishment of his fellow nominee.

“Congratulations to Big Greg @lamKingPromise! Apicki!” he tweeted.

King Promise in responding to the tweet said: “Ouch !!! Bless my brother.”

Although he came close to winning the Artiste of the Year award in 2024, it eluded him and Stonebwoy took home the prize.

But King Promise came back stronger securing 10 nominations for the 26th TGMAs including the coveted Artiste of the Year, Album/EP of the Year, and Telecel Most Popular Song.

Giving his acceptance speech, King Promise urged the younger generation not to give up on their dreams and believe in God’s timing just as he did and has been made “the chosen one.”

“If any young person is watching me right now who has a dream, use me as an example of resilience. My first year when I broke out on the scene, I had seven nominations and I left with zero.

“While some people laughed, I just worked harder because I believe in God’s timing. Today, I am the chosen one,” he said.

King Paluta also won three awards for the night including the Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year with his hit track ‘Aseda.’

King Paluta beat competition from OlivetheBoy – Asylum, Kidi ft Black Sherif – Lomo Lomo, Lasmid – Puul, Black Sherif – January 9, King Promise – Paris, Team Eternity – Defe Defe and Stonebwoy’s Jejereje.

His other awards were the Highlife Song of the Year and the Producer of the Year.
