Check out Ghanaian musicians who have survived deadly road crashes

Over the years, some Ghanaian musicians have been involved in road traffic  accidents.

Some of them survived while others succumbed. May the souls of the lost musicians rest in peace.

The most recent to be involved in a road crash is Highlife singer Kuami Eugene. Eugene was involved in an accident on Sunday night in which he sustained various injuries.

The incident took place at CP, near the DSTV office, en route to the Dzowulu traffic light in Accra. Although he survived the road crash, his Range Rover vehicle was badly damaged beyond repairs.

Below are some musicians who have survived road crashes.

Kuami Eugene

The Monica hit maker survived a serious road accident with his Range Rover on the N1H1 highway on Sunday, March 17.

According to eyewitness reports, his Range Rover car collided with a tipper truck that was moving slowly due to poor visibility caused by darkness and the lack of tail lights.

Kuami Eugene was with another friend when the inicident happened and is currently receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Center.

Wendy Shay

On September 10 last year, the award-winning songstress Wendy Shay was also involved in a road traffic accident. The “Uber Driver” hit maker had her Jeep Wrangler collided with a tipper truck in the midnight of Sunday, September 10.

The accident occurred on the Kwabenya ACP highway. The singer reportedly banged her head on the dashboard and suffered a mild concussion according to her management.

Quamina MP

Emmanuel Ato Quamina Amonoo, popularly known as ‘Quamina MP’ also survived a deadly motor accident in November 2020.

The singer of “Amanfuor girls” was not wounded in the collision, but the car he was riding in was completely destroyed.

Quamina MP was captured in a video looking devastated by the accident as he sat on the floor.

Yaw Siki

Yaw Siki of Wope Dodo fame, survived a near fatal accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway in April 2013.

The accident is said to have occurred around 12am when Yaw Siki and a friend, driver of the vehicle, were returning to Tema from Accra after a business meeting.

The car – a 2004 Toyota Camry – they were travelling in somersaulted near the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Dominion Centre.

The rapper sustained severe head injuries and was successfully treated at the 37 Military Hospital.

The former MUSIGA President had his vehicle and that of his crew members’ run into by a military car in 2003, he came dangerously close to death.

Along with the other buddies, he too suffered various degrees of injury after one of them passed away. He had to navigate his way through recuperation for almost two months.
