Charterhouse announces performers for 2024 TGMAs

All roads lead to the Accra International Conference Center this weekend due to the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) 2024 on June 1, 2024.

Organisers of the event have unveiled artistes to perform for the night and this included four artistes eyeing the ultimate trophy, The Artiste of the Year.

Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Mr Drew, Nacee, Amerado, King Paluta, Efya, Amaarae, Team Eternity and many more will grace the stage for the night with their classical hits back-to-back celebrating the music award scheme’s 25th anniversary.

The Ghana Music Awards announced this via its Facebook page and disclosed the gate fees as well.

Two tiers of tickets have been unveiled: Premium GHS500 and VIP GHS700.

The most prestigious accolade for Ghanaian musicians is the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

The 2023 Artiste of the Year winner was Black Sherif, a hip-hop/hip-life artiste.

He has the opportunity to retain the award this year or lose it to Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, and Nacee.

Sarkodie is the only solo act to win Artiste of the Year twice, VIP (VVIP) being the only group to repeat a win in the category. Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene and Black Sherif have all lifted the trophy once.

King Promise, a favourite to win will face keen competition from Stonebwoy, Nacee and others.

The Artiste of the Year award is the highest honour given to the artiste(s) adjudged by Charterhouse, GMA Board, Academy, and the General Public as having the highest audience appeal, highest radio play, highest online streaming and popularity.

The year under review for the TGMAs 2024 is January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023.

In the lead up to the Saturday showdown, the Unsung artiste of the year has been revealed to be rapper Kwesi Amewuga, alias Land Guard, who beat off competition from Kasar, Lali X Lola, Keeny Ice, Seven Kizs and Alaptawan.

As a winner of the Unsung artiste of the year, Amewuga will also perform on the night.
