Chef Faila to participate in an International Horticultural Expo in Qatar

Executive Chef Faila Abdul Razak is set to represent Ghana in an International Horticultural Expo in Doha, Qatar on March 9.

Chef Faila was invited by the Ghana Tourism Authority to collaborate with a resident caterer to showcase the rich flavors and cultural diversity of Ghana through its traditional dishes.

Faila will present Ghanaian delicacies and authentic Ghanaian drinks like millet drink, cocoa drink, and sobolo to the international patrons at the event.

Chef Faila made this announcement in a Facebook post on Tuesday, March 5 and expressed her excitement to represent Ghana at the international event.

“Participating in the International Horticultural Expo is an incredible opportunity for me to share my passion for Ghanaian cuisine with a global audience,” said Executive Chef Faila.

“I’m excited to bring my expertise and creativity to the forefront, highlighting the vibrant culinary traditions of Ghana and contributing to the success of Ghana Day at the Expo,” she added.

She will leave Ghana on March 6 to participate in the event expected to end on March 12.

The statement added that Faila is “committed to representing Ghana with pride and enthusiasm” and will wear a “specially designed ‘VisitGhana’ attire” throughout the event.

“I extend my sincere gratitude to the Ghana Tourism Authority for this opportunity and look forward to making Ghana proud at the International Horticultural Expo in Doha,” Chef Faila noted.

Cook-a-thon: Chef Faila fails Guinness World Record attempt

Chef Faila’s attempt at the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual was ruled unsuccessful on Sunday, March 3.

In a statement to announce her failed attempt Faila said cited a violation of the rest break rules as reason for her unsuccessful attempt.

She added that her inability to “meet the stringent guidelines set for the by Guinness World Records” also contributed to her disqualification.

Chef Faila dedicated an impressive 227 hours to her endeavour, generating the attention of many Ghanaians including the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia to the Tamale stadium where the event was held.

Over 10 days, she tirelessly cooked and served over 200 meals to orphans and vulnerable individuals.
