Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, Ghanaian event organizer who failed her world record attempt for the longest singing has announced her intention to embark on a ‘Thank You tour’ beginning August 24, 2024.

In a tweet, Afua said the tour is to show appreciation to countries which supported her in her Guinness World Record attempt noting that she will begin the tour with Toronto, Canada.

Asantewaa further called on non-Ghanaians and Ghanaians to join the tour which will end on September 3, 2024 and sponsored by Airmart, a travel agency.

“I have a tall list of Countries i am so grateful to for their immense support for me during my GWR record attempt. It’s time to say thank you beginning with all Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians in Toronto, Canada. Join us for an amazing experience from August 24 -September 03, 2024,” she tweeted.

The package for the tour which comes with a flight ticket for persons who wish to join includes 10 nights hotel accommodation, Canadian visa fees, biometric fees, tours in Toronto, etc.

Last month, the Guinness World Record announced Afua’s unsuccessful attempt to break the current record for the longest singing by an individual, an attempt she made in December 2023.

She completed her singing marathon at 126 hours and 52 minutes on December 29, 2023 aiming to break the current record by Sunil Waghmare, an Indian who sang for 105 hours in 2012.

But the GWR explained later in February 2024 that Afua Asaantewaa’s attempy failed because of “break timings not being met” which they assert is “a standard rule across all of our [GWR] longest marathon records.”
