Bullet 'kills' Ebony's songs

The late dancehall artiste with her manager Bullet
Chief Executive Officer of Rufftown Records Ricky Nana Agyeman, popularly known as Bullet, has indicated that his label will not be releasing any songs written by the late Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, known in showbiz as Ebony Reigns. In a press release on Tuesday, August 14, Rufftown Records said they are no longer interested in releasing unreleased songs of the 90’s Bad Gal, who passed away earlier this year in a road accident on the Accra-Sunyani highway. According to the record label, which now has Wendy Shay as Ebony’s replacement, it holds 60 per cent royalties of all of Ebony’s unreleased songs but are handing over full ownership to her father, Opoku Kwarteng.

They stated, however, that songs written by other writers are the intellectual property of the label. The press release directed curious fans and the general public who want to know when songs written by Ebony Reigns will be released to her father. Ebony was named Artiste of the Year at the 2018 VGMAs. By Helena Charway|editors.3news.com|Ghana
