Stop taking your car keys and phones to the red carpet; it’s inappropriate – Nana Akua Addo

Renowned Ghanaian actress and fashionista, Nana Akua Addo has urged celebrities to abstain from showing up on red carpets holding their phones and car keys.
Nana Akua stressed in a recent interview with Berla Mundi on the Day Show that the red carpet is an occasion to flaunt elegance and make a fashion statement rather than a laid-back gathering where commonplace objects should be on display.
She called the custom of showing up on the red carpet carrying cellphones and car keys “outdated,” stressing that it is not appropriate.
According to the media personality, Nigerians are pushing the boundaries of fashion, highlighting the way they manage their phones and car keys on the red carpet.
“We should cease carrying our phones and car keys to the red carpet; it’s outdated. Sometimes, you attend a red-carpet event and notice individuals with their phones, and need to tell them to hand them over to their personal assistant or someone.

“Where Nigerians are taking fashion to is on a different level, they are advancing…utterly professional. Their personal assistants and aides are present, ensuring that everything is taken care of before you step onto the red carpet. The focus is just you, your brand, what you are wearing attire; nothing else,” she said on June 2.
Nana Akua Addo argued that moments of red carpet are to showcase design and what you are wearing not the material things.
