25th TGMAs red carpet: 60% of regular attendees looked better than celebrities – Fashion Consultant

Fashion Consultant, Joey the tailor’s Tailor

Fashion Consultant and Creative Director, Joey has asserted that majority of ‘regular attendees’ for the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards night dressed better than most celebrities.

Joey in an interview on TV3’s New Day, June 6 explained that per what he saw at the TGMAs, celebrities who attended the event did not put in much effort to look better.

He emphasized that there were ‘mere’ individuals who looked very good and believed were supposed to be on the red carpet rather than some celebrities.

“I really think that sixty percent of regular attendees looked better than celebrities. That’s what I think because I was seeing people in other people’s feed, snaps and social media and I was like who is this? Because she is looking so good and I felt like she should be going onto the red carpet to get interviews,” he stated.

Joey expressed his admiration for the gown and first looks of co-host for the event on the night, media personality Naa Ashorkor.

Naa Ashorkor’s first gorgeous and elegant dress was designed by renowned fashion designer, Yoli Koomson.

Joey also mentioned that there has not been any improvement on red carpet for the TGMAs.

Joey told Host, Cookie Tee on June 6 that organisers of the TGMA should have been more selective on particular looks to appear on the red carpet.

He described the 25th TGMA’s red carpet as “chaotic”.

“We are at a point where there is no general improvement on the looks and feel of our red carpet in the sense that I feel it was a bit chaotic in organization.

“Not everybody qualifies to be screened on the red carpet and the looks and all of that I guess is another conversation that we have to have with the organisers trying to get the people who are going to get on the red carpet well-fitted enough before they get unto the red carpet.

“But generally speaking, I wasn’t too excited about the looks that I saw,” he explained.

Joey further rated the red carpet for the 25th TGMA below average, giving it four out of ten.
