A mother narrowly escaped death after her meal was laced with a poisonous substance.
Aunty Lydia, the mother of a 13-year-old junior high school (JHS) student, narrated the ordeal on GhanAkoma hosted by Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin on Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
“They have been having an affair for three years, but I was oblivious,” an obviously frightened mother revealed.
The girl also confirmed the incident.
“My boyfriend gave me a toffee mixed with wee. He then asked me to lace my mother’s meal with an acid, extracted from a battery.”
The girl further revealed the motive was to kill her mother who he claims has become a stumbling block in their relationship.
The suspects, who have been reported to the police, “have been released because of their young age; the boy is 15 years and couldn’t have been placed behind bars,” Aunty Lydia said.
