Ghana winger Jeffrey Schlupp came off the to score his first goal of the season as Crystal Palace earned a point in a 2-2 stalemate against Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Sclupp’s goal completed the comeback for Palace who looked destined for home defeat when Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy gave Leicester a two-goal lead in the first half.

Leicester opened the scoring against the run of play when Kelechi Iheanacho capitalised on a mistake from Joachim Andersen before slotting past Vicente Guaita on 31 minutes.

Jamie Vardy added a second six minutes later with a cool finish from Harvey Barnes’ assist.

Teenage substitute Michael Olise pulled a goal back for Palace with a brilliant volley past Kasper Schmeichel.

And then Schlupp, who won Premier League with Leicester, added a second just 48 seconds after his introduction, heading past Schmeichel with only his second touch.

Schlupp was making his second straight appearance after recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered on Ghana duty in early September.

He injured himself in the 1-0 win over Ethiopia in FIFA World Cup qualifiers and missed two games for Palace after the international break.

Schlupp has been excluded from the Ghana squad that will play Zimbabwe home and away this month.
