Savannah Region records first Covid-19 death

The Savannah Regional Director of Health, Dr. Chrisantus Kubio, has confirmed the death of one person who tested positive for Covid-19 in the region. One other person is also on admission at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Catholic Hospital in Damongo. The deceased, according to Dr Kubio, has since been buried at a cemetery outside Damongo in accordance with the protocols put in place for Covid-19 burials. Information gathered by 3news.com revealed the victim was referred to the Catholic Hospital in Damongo from the Central Gonja District. Dr. Chrisantus Kubio appealed to residents of the region to strictly adhere to all Covid-19 protocols to avert any widespread. So far, Savannah Region has recorded a total o of 57 cases, 51 recoveries/discharges, five active cases and, now, one death. Meanwhile, six staff of the Northern Region office of the Ghana Health Service have tested positive for the virus. Confirming this to 3news.com, the Northern Regional Director of the Service, John Eleeza, revealed the patients are responding well to treatment. He disclosed he is in touch with them all the time.
