'Relative calm' returns to KNUST

There is “relative calm” at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), 3news.com's correspondents have reported. A joint police-cum-military deployment on campus has seen the student agitation controlled. Students on Monday declared a boycott of lectures preceded by a violent protest march. Property were vandalized as students marched to petition the school's authorities. In their trail to the administration block, the protesting students set property ablaze while they pelted stones at the any image of security on campus. Windows and windscreens of cars at the administration block were smashed. The KNUST Public Relations Officer, Kwame Yeboah, suspects non-students may have joined the demonstration as cars were looted.
