Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the signing of Ghana goalkeeper Razak Braimah on a five year deal.
The club said the 30-year old will join them after passing a medical and putting pen to paper on the deal in Accra on Monday.
It ends Braimah’s long association with Spanish football mostly in the lower divisions that stretches back over ten years.
He played just four games for Cordoba last season and became a free agent this summer after the expiration of his current deal.
Despite his lack of game time at club level, Braimah was Ghana first choice at the 2015 and 2017 Nations Cups before he was dropped by Kwesi Appiah for the recent run of games.
While he will be hoping to get back into Appiah’s good books, he faces a monumental challenge at Sundowns to get regular games at the reigning African champions.
Uganda goalkeeper and current Africa Player of the Year based in Africa Dennis Onyango is the first choice goalkeeper with Zambia international Kennedy Mwene his current deputy.
