Rally round new executives for victory in 2020 – Prez charges NPP

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has charged losers at the just ended New Patriotic Party delegates’ conference to support newly elected executives to ensure that the party emerges victorious come 2020.

In a statement dated July 8 and signed by the president, he congratulated the newly elected executives of the party and urged all party supporters to move beyond the elections and work towards the attainment of victory in the 2020 General Elections.

“In adhering to the time-honoured tradition, values and principles of the NPP, I urge all to rally in unity behind the new National Officers of our Party, and ensure that we record another famous, historic victory in the 2020 elections,” President Akufo-Addo stated.

“I have, on occasion, stated that internal party contests are not about winners and losers. They are about the party winning,” he added.

President Akufo-Addo also commended leadership and the organizational team for successfully putting the NPP’s 26th delegates conference together.

He further added, “We have shown, once again, that we are the party that has an abiding faith and belief in multi-party democracy.”

The president said the party ought to work together to bring about the social and economic transformation that the people of Ghana deserve.

The delegates’ conference was held at the Koforidua Technical University, Saturday July 7, 2018.

The conference saw some 6,000 delegates who gathered to elect new executives to lead the party for the next four years.

Acting National Chairman of the party, Freddie Blay retained his position alongside acting General Secretary John Boadu with r Sammi Awuku winning the National Organiser slot.

Henry Nana Boakye emerged as the party’s National Youth Organiser, with Rita Asobayire as National Vice Chair and Kate Gyamfua as National Women’s Organiser.

Other winners include, National Treasurer Kwabena Abankwa-Yeboah and Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa as National Nasara Coordinator.
