Over four million dollars was injected into the creation of the Kumasi Rattray Park. The cost, to many, did not match the facilities in the ultramodern park.
But now, the recreation and amusement park appears more complete than before.
In 2015, the Rattray Park was officially commissioned by the then President John Dramani Mahama.
It was a major achievement under the tenure of the then KMA chief executive, Kojo Bonsu, despite concerns raised over the cost of the project by a section of people in the Kumasi metropolis.
For some patrons of the facility, a facility like a swimming pool should have been added to the project.

Today, the park has a swimming pool and a dome, something the people in Kumasi have been craving for.
“We have replaced a lot of kids playing items like the bouncy castle and other modern facilities” according to Eunice Animah Yankey, the administrative secretary of the Kumasi Rattray Park.
The private operator of the new Rattray Park, Isaac Owusu, said a dome has been created to handle all social event, saying “we thought the park needed this to make it complete, together with the swimming pool.”
In the area of job creation, Mr Owusu said “53 people have been employed.”
The park was busy during the Christmas Eve. Patronage has also shot up.
