The Progressive People’s Party, PPP, says it is targeting 50 parliamentary seats in the 2016 elections.

According to the party’s Elections Committee Secretary, Richard Nii Armah, the party will put forward more competent persons to vie for various parliamentary seats across the country.

The party could not win a single parliamentary seat in the last elections as it performed poorly in the presidential contest.

But Nii Armah believes the party’s fortunes would improve in the 2016 elections having elected officers in six regions so far.

According to him, the party would elect its national officers and a presidential candidate soon.

This, he maintained, is an indication that the PPP, which was led by Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom in the last elections, is ready for the 2016 polls.
