'NPP has been kind to you so shush!' – Gabby hits out at Mahama
Leading member of the New Patriotic Party Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko hit out at former President John Mahama for criticising President Nana Akufo-Addo over a supposed proposed new taxes. Mr. Otchere-Darko who felt slighted by Mahama’s comment asked Ghanaians to tell him to “shush,” claiming the NPP has been “kind” to him notwithstanding “the reckless way” the National Democratic Congress ran down the country’s economy. Reports emerged Friday that the government was seeking to increase the 17.5% per cent VAT to 21% in the mid-year budget to be presented to parliament on Thursday. Commenting on the reports, Mahama such increment which he said will cripple businesses, will be at variance with Akufo-Addo’s promise to move from taxation to production.
