There is a heavy police presence in and around the National Collation Centre at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission (EC) at Ridge in Accra ahead of the declaration of the results of the presidential elections.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Chair of the EC, Jean Adukwei Mensa, who is also the Chief Returning Officer for the presidential election, will be announcing the results of the polls today Tuesday, December 8.
This comes after the Commission said prior to the elections on Monday, December 7 that the results would be declared within 24 hours after polls closed.
This has, however, been shot down by the National Democratic Congress (NDC, who are raising doubts about the ability of the EC to declare the results.
According to the NDC, after barely half-a-day, there are no results collated so far from the constituencies.
