President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo together with the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Catherine Afeku, joined many art lovers at this year’s Chalewote Festival in Jamestown in Accra.
Hundreds of patrons thronged the old town on Saturday, August 25 to appreciate beautiful art works displayed by artists from all walks of life.
The president and his delegation went through the principal streets of Jamestown to see works displayed by artists.
The Chalewote Festival is an annual event which is centered around bringing artists and art lovers together to connect through art.
Since its maiden event in 2011, the festival has seen artists and patrons from all walks of life come together to appreciate art.
This year’s event, which began on Monday, August 20, was no different from past ones as the streets of Jamestown were painted and decorated with different paintings and artworks.
Over the years, Chalewote Festival has evolved and has gone beyond the arts, as many vendors capitalise on the festival to sell some indigenous Ghanaian meals and beverages.
