Ghanaian singer OV (Original Version) has served her fans a new song, ‘Shush’, after her hiatus from the music scene. Speaking on the 3FM Drive, the singer explained that she wrote the song during recovery from psychotic episodes she suffered after her exit from Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group.

She said: “Shush is an emotional tune. It is very deep and personal to me. It is deep and self-explanatory because, at that time, my mind was all over the place. It was crazy.”

The former Burniton signee also explained how words she had written in the sanitorium became lyrics for songs, including her new one, ‘Shush’.

“I kept singing until I got better. I couldn’t even eat unless it was
liquid. At that point, I had gotten a second relapse. So, my friend came over to where I was confined and helped me compose several songs that were supposed to be on my EP. But then I could not release it.

The day he came over, he told me that the texts I had written in the past that did not make sense. So I read and explained to him that that was what I was seeing and hearing.”

She revealed that Stonebwoy was not by her side as he didn’t reach out to her during that period.

‘Shush’ is available on all music platforms for streaming.
