The Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma, Kofi Amankwa-Manu, who also doubles as the Deputy Defence Minister, believes the ruling party will have a strong and more united front to face the 2024 general election, despite recent happenings in the party.
In an interview with 3news.com, the Atwima Kwanwoma lawmaker allayed fears that the departure of former Trade Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen will disintegrate the party's strong base, which is the Ashanti region.
“In every organisation, some will leave, others will also join,” Mr Amankwa-Manu said in an interview.
“It is sad to see Alan leave the party but, it will make us even more stronger for the battle ahead.”
A staunch member of the ruling party and four-time flagbearer hopeful, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten withdrew from the November 4 Presidential Primary and eventually resigned as a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He has since indicated he will contest the 2024 elections as an independent candidate with his Movement For Change (M4C).
