Signed by NPP’s General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong, the statement said preparations for the primaries are far advanced.
“All are to note that no decision has been made to postpone the primaries.”
However, some constituencies will have their elections postponed following requests from executives.
Bia East, Bia West, Juaboso and Akontombra, all in the Western Region, as well as Nadowli-Kaleo and Nkwanta South in the Upper East and Volta regions respectively are among constituencies whose elections have been postponed.
“Parliamentary Primaries in the Klottey Korle, Obom-Domeabra and Akrofuom Constituencies have been put on hold, pending the determination of cases referred to the National Appeals Committee,” the statement on Wednesday, June 3 said.
The June 13 primaries will be the end of the opposition party’s reorganization process – which began in 2013 – towards the 2016 presidential elections.
