NPP HQ raid: Eleven suspects granted bail

The eleven (11) suspects arrested for raiding the headquarters of the New Patriotic Party on Monday, have been granted bail to the tune of 10,000 cedis with two sureties by an Accra High Court.

The suspects who appeared in court on Wednesday looked unperturbed that although they were in the grips of the police.

One of the ring leaders who led the suspects to undertake the raid at the headquarters, Bismarck Osei Danso in an interview said “I am a former Assembly Member for Odorkor. We went to the party’s headquarters to demands answers over the current crisis in our party.

“We went to the party’s headquarters at 3:30am to wait for the leadership of the party. We disarmed the invisible forces {NPP’s private security}. We were holding rifles. We are party members and cannot be denied from entering the party’s headquarters.

The suspects which included a woman were charged with causing unlawful damage to the tune of GHC 28,000, unlawful entry and unlawful purpose on private property.

They are to reappear on December 8, 2015.
