The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Mr Sulemana Braimah, has indicated that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have not helped the integrity of the Electoral Commission (EC).
According to him, the elections management body engaged in some wrong doings including procurement-related issues ahead of the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
However, he said, instead of criticizing the Commission to enable the right things to be done, key members of the NPP rather supported those actions.
This situation, in his view, affected the trustworthiness of the elections management body in Ghana.
In a tweet, Mr Braimah said “By their tacit support and defence of every action and mistake of the EC, right from the appointment of commissioners, procurement, voter registration, exhibition, election and post-election; NPP folks have not helped the credibility of the EC at all.”
