Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Ohene Ntow has revealed that the Northern Region Chairman of the party, Daniel Bugri Naabu, has once threatened to kill him.
He said Mr Naabu has also threatened the party’s General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Chairman Paul Afoko and Kojo Mpianim, a leading member of the party, before.
Mr Ntow made these revelations on Accra-based Citi FM on Wednesday, January 28 over allegations said to have been made on a secret tape by the NPP regional chairman.
First broadcast on Radio Gold, the tape attributed to Mr Naabu alleged that Nana Ohene Ntow as well as the party’s National Chairman and General Secretary have taken monies from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to cause the failure of Leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 election.
Though Mr Naabu has since denied making such statements, Nana Ohene Ntow has called for investigation into the tape and alleged that given the track record of Mr Naabu, he is capable of making such statements.
“He stood in my face and said, you Ohene Ntow, I will kill you,” Mr Ntow, who was Spokesperson for Alan Kyerematen during NPP’s presidential primary, disclosed.
He called on the National Council of NPP to call the Northern Region chairman to order.
“The man by his behaviour has the tendency to bring this party down.”
