Zoomlion denies allegations of engaging services of landguards

Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, has denied allegations linking the waste management giant to activities of landguards.

The company says it is a law abiding entity and would not engage in acts that contravenes the laws of the land.

This follows a Monday, April 07, 2025 newspaper publication alleging that the company has hired landguards to demolish properties belonging to some foreigners.

In a statement issued same date by the company’s Communications Directorate, Zoomlion emphasised its commitment to upholding the rule of law and adhering to due process in resolving issues, rather than taking matters into its own hands.

“Management wishes to state, in no uncertain terms, that Zoomlion Ghana Limited does not employ, contract, or engage the services of landguards, nor is it involved in any unlawful or outlawed activities.

“The company operates in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana and remains committed to ethical business practices,” portions of the statement indicated, adding that, “we unequivocally deny these allegations.”

The statement further affirmed Zoomlion’s position as a “responsible corporate entity that upholds the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability in all its dealings”, urging the public to disregard any claims of violence attributed to the organisation.

“Zoomlion Ghana Limited is a responsible corporate entity that upholds the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability in all its dealings.

“We urge the general public and our stakeholders to disregard these unfounded allegations and remain assured of our continued commitment to lawful and sustainable development,” concluded the statement.
