Elon Musk claims Trump is named in Epstein files, blames him for delay in release

Elon Musk has stirred controversy by claiming that former U.S. President Donald Trump is named in the unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files, and that’s why the U.S. government hasn’t made them public.

In a post on Thursday night on X (formerly Twitter), Musk wrote:

“@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.”

He ended the post, which has been viewed over 10 million times, with a jab at Trump:

“Have a nice day, DJT!”

Musk did not provide any evidence to back his claim or explain how he had seen the files, which are part of Justice Department records related to Epstein — the late financier and convicted sex offender accused of trafficking underage girls to powerful men.

The billionaire tech mogul, who recently resigned as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — a controversial agency under the Trump administration — has become increasingly critical of Trump.

Since his departure, Musk has slammed Trump’s tax and spending policies, calling them a “disgusting abomination.”

In response, Trump took to Truth Social Thursday evening, claiming he asked Musk to leave his administration and accusing the Tesla CEO of going “CRAZY!”
