We’ll not allow Majority MPs to force their way – Minority Leader

Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has firmly announced that the Minority caucus will not be subjected to any act of intimidation by the Majority caucus.

Addressing the press on Friday, January 31, 2025 after the disruptions and chaos that had occurred in Parliament the night ago, the Effutu MP noted that they are willing to cooperate with the Majority for government business but will do so without intimidation.

“The NDC must know now that they have won an election and which election they must govern with us. We will not allow them to use their so-called Majority to force their way, it will not happen,” he told the media.

The Minority caucus assured that they are ready to perform constitutional mandate and allow for government business to proceed.

“In fact, we are not going to boycott any proceedings, boycott is not part of us. We will stay in and we want to assure them that because we have been in government before and we know government, we will not obstruct government business.

“We cannot be intimidated even as we perform our constitutional mandate and we cause the parliamentary service to urgently step up security within the precincts of Parliament,” he added.
