The Western Nzema Youth League has described as bold the proposal by the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to institute a 24-hour economy when he returns to power.

The League insists the proposal will see the manufacturing, petroleum, retail, and service sectors being improved significantly.

This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday, November 28 by Leader Dr Patrick Ekye Kwesie.

“The reality is that 24-hour economy proposal by President Mahama is viable and in the right direction
considering a well-resourced nation like Ghana,” the statement said.

“Our careful analysis has made us aware of all the nation wreckers who are opposing this genuine agenda. The Youth should get ready for work. We support this doable initiative.”

24 hour Economy is long overdue: We support President Mahama and the NDC.

We fully support the 24 hour Economy proposal as youth from Nzemaland. Creating an all-inclusive country that never sleeps, one step at a time is like Kwame Nkrumah Reincarnated governance. Selfless and Result-oriented Policy proposal. Nzema is proud of this initiative and will fight for its sustenance when voted into power in 2024

Managing a 24hour economy means much more than making cities safer after dark,” we trust in your security system and posterity is judging us now in our face. This is a bold approach in nation building.. “Cities must be proactive in creating quality spaces for socializing and for work throughout the day and night with the aim of achieving all that requires and wealth Creation.

The Manufacturing, Petroleum, Retail, Service and all sectors will see significant improvement.

For instance, Amsterdam was among the first cities to recognize the value of nightlife to a city’s economy and culture, creating the role of “nachtburgemeester” — night mayor — to proactively tackle safety, noise, late-night transit and other concerns. This is Job creation. Accra Takoradi, Tamale, Kumasi et all can follow suit. Imagine the number of night mayors and security personnel to be employed. This is wealth creation.

We plead with President Mahama to revive the renowned Inventor, Dr. Thomas Mensah’s love to get Ghana a speed train from the North to the south in an hour. He’s being subjected to fierce resistance.
This will augment the 24-hour economy and support building the Ghana we deserve.

This initiative will help revive Ghana and take us from oppressors rule. This announcement by President
Mahama and NDC is resilient and stand the test of time. Only enemies of the state will critisize this bold venture.

At its core, your objective is to create a 24-hour economy that is world-renowned for its vibrancy, diversity, safety and access to amenities right throughout the day and night. To compete on the world stage and create jobs, we must have a fantastic after dark experience and 24-hour. Ayeeko to you NDC and President Mahama for making the youth his priority.

In recent years, cities large and small, from London, Paris and New York City to Iowa City (population 75,849), have followed suit, appointing nighttime advisers, managers and councils to balance the potential of the after-hours economy with quality-of-life issues for residents with day and night jobs.

The reality is that 24 hour economy proposal by President Mahama is viable and in the right direction considering a well resourced nation like Ghana. Our careful analysis has made us aware of all the nation wreckers who are opposing this Genuine Agenda. The Youth should get ready for work. We support this doable initiative. As a nation, we have tried lamentations for long. Let us stick to Gratitude and do away in scoring cheap political Point. As a youth Advocacy group of Professionals we harness to call a spade a spade devoid of fear and favor. We fully support the 24 hour economy proposal by the NDC and
President Mahama. Economic stability is what we deserve as a Ghana.

This is proposal has really hit us hard as a dynamic youth group. We feel that our concerns are being addressed. The traditional 8am to 5pm is a bane on us.We are happy this will make realise the Ghanaian Dream.

This 24 hour Economy proposal will tackle a variety of issues, from mobility, and public safety to economic development, nightlife and racial equity, helping city economies to flourish around the clock.

Developing 24-hour economy is crucial for the sustainable growth of our country which is endowed with a lot of natural resources, and we must continue to ensure nighttime establishments are nurtured so they can keep thriving and bringing prosperity to residents day and night.

For years, our night-time offering has been in the spotlight for being too heavily centered on the consumption of alcohol and associated violent incidents. This we believe is to reduce the impact of alcohol-fuelled violence and to create a safer country after dark.
