Voters’ register discrepancies: Parliament will have to look at NDC’s concerns – Majority Leader

The Majority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has assured the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the House will look into their concerns on the voter’s register.

Afenyo-Markin made this assurance while receiving the petition by the NDC on Tuesday, September 17 during their protest against the Electoral Commission.

“I agree with the Minority Leader that as a House, we have to look at the issues presented and I encourage all stakeholders to also avail themselves.

“I believe that if there are genuine concerns we can all raise it and discuss it at the table,” he noted.

The party has petitioned Parliament over its concerns of alleged discrepancies in the voters’ register for the 2024 December elections.

The petition is also related to the Electoral Commission’s refusal to allow an independent audit of the voter’s register after the NDC said it had identified some discrepancies.
