A KIA truck with registration number GN 8041-11 and four other vehicles including a Mahama camboo and a pick-up believed to belong to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service got involved in an accident during the early hours of Wednesday, January 30 at the Ho Civic Centre traffic lights in the Volta Region. The driver of the KIA truck, Delali Gleh, says he left home heading to the workshop for repairs when he realized the brake of his car failed, resulting in the accident. “I left home on my way to the workshop when I realized my brake failed,” he narrated. “I began to blow my horns to give signals to other cars. I had to swerve an Urvan bus leading me to crush into the vehicles.” He sustained cuts on his right arm. An eye witness, a fuel attendant at the Civic Center Total Filling station, recounted what happened to 3news.com. “The Mahama camboo and the taxi cabs were in traffic waiting to move when the truck entered their lane. “The white pick-up saved the KIA from causing more havoc after the driver of the [Mahama] camboo and passengers including a pregnant woman escaped unhurt.” Officers from the Regional Fire Service and the Police Service were at the scene to direct traffic and put the situation under control.
