Suhuyini gifts smocks to members of Appointments Committee after vetting

The Deputy Minister-Designate for Roads and Highways, Alhassan Suhuyini, after his vetting on Wednesday, February 26 2025 extended a kind gesture to members of the Appointments Committee by gifting traditional smocks to each committee member.

After answering questions about his vision and plans for the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the Tamale Central MP decided to show gratitude to the committee members and gifted them the smocks, a signature attire of the Northern Region.

“In the spirit of accountability, permit me to announce that my revered chiefs brought you a smock for me to present on your behalf, and the same will be provided for all members of this committee so that in your next sitting, perhaps you all will be dressed in a Dagbon smock,” Suhuyini said while smiling.

Committee Chairman Bernard Ahiafor acknowledged the gesture, responding, “Thank you very much. It is much appreciated, and I am most grateful.”

However, a section of the public have expressed their displeasure over the kind gesture by Suhuyini. Others believe that this could influence the members of the Committee to approve of his vetting.
