The attorneys are submitting themselves to compulsory arbitration as the National Labour Commission begins to mediate over their concerns for better working conditions.
The state attorneys are demanding for increment in their salaries and an upgrade of their conditions of service.
After a meeting between the state attorneys, the Attorney General and the Finance Ministry Tuesday, the state attorneys decided to call off their strike following assurances given by government.
The NLC has 14-days within which to come out with an agreeable roadmap to address their concerns. The state attorneys say if the 14-day ultimatum fails to address their iusses, they will decide on their next line of action.
They have accused government of not showing enough commitment in getting their concerns addressed.
Before their strike which severely affected justice delivery in the courts, the state attorneys said government had not taken them seriously since discussion on their issues commenced over a year ago.
A total of 151 lawyers which makes up the number of State Attorneys countrywide, embarked on the strike.
