South African Tourism certify 11 tour operators in Ghana

South African Tourism last Monday certified 11 tour operators in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana after successfully completing an SA Specialist programme. The programme, which is aimed at equipping tour operators and travel agencies with adequate knowledge to best sell South Africa as a tourist destination, saw 11 graduating. Of the 11 graduates, two won life-changing opportunities to visit South Africa on an all-expense-paid trip courtesy South African Tourism. Trade Relations Manager, West Africa of South African Tourism Mohammed Tanko Kwajaffa, speaking at the ceremony, explained the need to have a feel of South Africa and sell it, adding that it is rich in history, culture, wildlife, nightlife and tourism in general. He used the occasion as an opportunity to school participants on some insights on packaging tours, visa applications among other must-know stuff about tourism. He also shared information about Gauteng (Johannesburg & surroundings), KwaZulu Natal (Durban and surroundings) and other places which he said are the most visited sites in South Africa. A representative from South Africa Airways (SAA) also spoke about recent developments and progress with the airline, highlighting its achievements since its operations in Ghana for the past 23 years. He noted the airline is Africa’s most awarded airline and serves over 74 destinations in partnership with SA express.
