Serena Williams debuts baby bump at Met Gala after announcing second pregnancy

Tennis superstar, Serena Williams announced she is expecting a second baby on Monday, May 1, before debuting her baby bump at the 2023 Met Gala.

This exciting news comes after Williams’ first pregnancy, where she suffered a life-threatening pulmonary embolism that left her in critical condition after giving birth in 2017.

To share the news, Williams posted photos of herself and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, ahead of the annual event on social media.

In the caption, she expressed her excitement at the invitation from Anna Wintour to attend the Met Gala.

“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” she captioned

The couple, who already has a 5-year-old daughter named Olympia, walked the Met Gala red carpet shortly thereafter.

Despite her previous health scare during her first pregnancy, Williams appeared stunning in a black Gucci gown with a white tulle bottom.

Her husband, Ohanian, looked dapper in a classic tuxedo and bowtie.

Fans and followers of Williams have been expressing their excitement and well wishes for the couple and their growing family.

The Met Gala is known for its elaborate themes, and this year was no exception. The event paid tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld, a fashion icon who left an indelible mark on the industry during his long career.

Lagerfeld was known for his impeccable style and his work as creative director of Chanel, Fendi, and his eponymous fashion label.

The theme was reflected in the night’s fashion choices, with many attendees opting for black and white ensembles, oversized bows, and dramatic headpieces.

The event also included a special exhibition of Lagerfeld’s work, showcasing some of his most iconic pieces from his time at Chanel and Fendi.
