Electoral activities at the Kwabenya DC Basic school were affected by the presence of pupils in class sessions.

All the 14 polling stations were forced to operate in an uncompleted school block which  inconvenienced electoral officers.

Some electoral officers who spoke to TV3 said agents are not supposed to sit close to them, but they were forced to accommodate all the agents due to the peculiar situation in which they found themselves.

The Kwabenya electoral area had 47 polling stations.

A total of 24,480 registered voters were expected to cast their ballots there to elect district assembly members and unit committee members.

Five candidates contested for the Kwabenya Electoral area assembly member position.
All five candidates are males.

Most voters reported to the centre without voters ID card, but were able to vote with the Ghana card.

One presiding officer of the Electoral Commission, however, said this is challenging as the voters ID card makes referencing easier compared to the Ghana card.

Meanwhile, some voters say a lot more people returned home because they didn’t have either the voters card or Ghana card.

They had hoped the EC will allow them to vote so far as their names were on the reference lists.
