Former President Kufuor: ‘I want the nation to be shocked of this evil’

Former President John Agyekum cannot wait for Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s investigative movie to be shown to Ghanaians on Wednesday.

“I want the nation to be shocked of this practice…this evil.”

But he also wants the consequences of the documentary to be tackled “strictly according to law”.

The latest investigative piece by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas is said to be centered on football administration in Ghana.

It is titled ‘Number 12: When Misconduct & Greed Become the Norm’.

Anas' Number 12
“Number 12” is scheduled to be premiered on June 6 at the Accra International Conference Center

The premiere of the documentary will start at 3:00pm on Wednesday.

Speaking in a video posted by Anas Aremeyaw Anas on Tuesday, Mr Kufuor said since Ghana upholds the rule of law, “investigations should be put to work and, of course, the outcome should be applied strictly according to law”.

Already, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has invoked the criminal procedure after watching the video.

He reported the Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, to the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Ghana Police Service after Mr Nyantakyi used his names, the Vice President’s and some other government officials’ in wooing investors.

Mr Nyantakyi has since been under investigations and cautioned by the police.
