The Assemblies of God, Ghana, Ashanti North Region has honoured former president John Dramani Mahama for his role in advancing the country’s democracy.
Mr Mahama was honoured during an induction ceremony at the AG-Christ Charismatic Church International at Airport Round-about, Kumasi.
A citation presented to the 2020 Presidential Candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) described him as “a model Christian politician who has brought highest political and public office honour to Assemblies of God worldwide.”
Former President Mahama addressing the congregation described leadership as challenging and one that must have the interest of the people at heart “leadership in the Church is as tough as leadership in politics, but a true leader builds the strength of his followers” he opined.
He was accompanied by the Ashanti Regional chairman of the NDC, Andrews Nana Akwasi, former mayor and minister Dr. Samuel Sarpong and Fuseini Donkor, a member of the NDC communication team.
