Vote for Bawumia and Vincent Assafuah – NAPO tells Tafo-Pankrono constituents

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh

Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has reiterated that former President John Mahama is a spent force in politics and cannot be looked up to as a resourceful person who can be trusted to provide solutions to the country’s problems.

Addressing a mammoth rally of NPP supporters at Tafo Pankrono in the Ashanti Region, he stated that former President Mahama, who is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for the 2024 election, had the opportunity to govern the country but he could not leave behind any meaningful legacy.

Thousands of supporters and sympathisers of the NPP thronged the streets of Old Tafo Pankrono to attend the rally. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, visited the Old Tafo Constituency, ably represented in Parliament by his political protégé, Vincent Ekow Assafuah.

As part of the tour, he visited Assafuah 92.7 FM, the constituency’s maiden community radio station established by the MP and commissioned the newly constructed Pankrono Police Station.

These milestones reflect the tangible progress being made in the constituency under his leadership.

During his interactions with market women, community stakeholders, and attendees at a rally, he reaffirmed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s unwavering commitment to consolidating Ghana’s gains and advancing its development. He reminded them that John Mahama, after failing during his presidency and being rejected twice, has nothing to offer the country.

“His days in office were some of the most remarkable in the history of Ghana’s Fourth Republic with Ghana’s perennial electricity problem, notoriously known as ‘dum sor’ punctuating much of the administration.

Mahama also made some controversial decisions, including canceling teacher and nursing trainee allowances while allowing the then opposition, NPP brand him as an incompetent leader. Therefore, any bid from him to become president again must to be seen through the lens of his past days in office,” NAPO stated on November 25.

He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to tackle the recurring issue of intermittent power outages, popularly known as ‘Dumsor’. He emphasised that the current administration’s power challenges are significantly different from what the country experienced during the tenure of former President John Mahama, highlighting the progress made by the Akufo-Addo government in addressing the issue.

The current power outages he believed is a plan by the NDC to sabotage the government., which will be investigated.

He appealed to the good people of Old Tafo to vote massively for Dr. Bawumia and Vincent Ekow Assafuah to secure continued progress and prosperity for all.
