The vice presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh says the possibility of the NPP winning the December 7 election is dependent on God.

He is nonetheless confident that Ghanaians will vote to retain NPP in power in the upcoming elections based on its track record of delivering on promises.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh expressed this optimism while speaking to chiefs and party supporters at Anum Apapam in the Ayensuano constituency of the Eastern Region as part of his constituency campaign tour.

“The Ayensuano seat is coming back home, as the people of Anum Apapam and other communities stand in their resolve to safeguard the gains made in Free SHS, electricity stability, the construction of more schools, Agenda 111, and many other initiatives.

“The people are resolute, without a shred of doubt, that the leader Ghana needs in this defining moment is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” NAPO stated.

“They are not only committed to campaigning for him, but they will also vote overwhelmingly in his favour and through hard work, Ida Adjoa Asiedu is heading to Parliament on the NPP’s ticket. I believe that the Ayensuano, apart from the party’s traditional strongholds, could play a key role in securing victory for the NPP,” he noted.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia will hit the ground running if the party is retained in power.

He appealed to Ghanaians to compare the track records of the two main political parties in the country before deciding who to vote for in the December elections. According to him, since both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have had a feel of governance, it is better to compare their track records and achievements.

Speaking at the rally, NAPO noted that the current administration has in seven and half years laid a good foundation for the transformation of the country, a record that the opposition NDC under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama has struggled to achieve.

Comparing the track records of both parties, the running mate emphasized that the NPP has in the past initiated social intervention policies that cater for the basic needs of Ghanaians. Some of these policies he said are the Capitation Grant and the School Feeding Programme.

Kennedy Agyepong on his part called for support for the parliamentary candidate, Ida Adwoa Asiedu, noting the good work the former member of parliament for the area, Ayeh-Paye has done for the people.

He also called for unity to take back the seat.
