Super delegates conference: The majority have decided, we have to respect the decision – Kwabena Agyepong

A failed flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has said that by and large the super delegates conference of the NPP that took place last Saturday, August 26 was a good event apart from the few hitches that happened.

He said although he worked hard going around the country to interact with the delegates to sell his new ideas to them he was not voted for to be part of the first five to go for the main flagbearer elections on November 4.

“Once the Majority have taken the decision we have to respect the decision,” he said on the Mid Day news on TV3 Monday, August 28.

He added, “I am an internal democratic, I am disappointed but I am emotionally strong.”

The delegates voted to reduce the number of aspirants from ten to five.

Vice President Dr Bawumia swept 629 of the votes (68.15%) followed by Kennedy Agyapong and Alan Kyerematen with 132 votes (14.3%) and 95 votes (10.29%) respectively.

Francis Addai-Nimoh and Boakye Agyarko polled 9 votes each, resulting in a run-off between the two of them to determine who places 5th.
